The walls are adorned with original Audubon prints, architectural renderings by Piranesi and English country scenes by Kips. Some accommodations feature private terraces, grand pianos and spectacular views of the city's skyline. Suites, priced by size, space and exposure, offer separate sitting rooms with powder room.

The late great Mark Hampton originally decorated each room at The Carlyle individually. He also designed the armchairs found in each room, which are named after his daughter Alexa.
Recommended Rooms
Ranging in size from 650 to 1800 square feet, the hotel's 57 suites are individually decorated in the same genteel Anglo-English style as the guest rooms. Each offers ample living space to relax and entertain. In keeping with the hotel's musical heritage, 23 suites feature Steinway or Baldwin baby-grand pianos, which are tuned twice a week.
